Judge Llarena prevents political prisoners from going to the Parliament because they have too much social support

Supreme Court Judge Pablo Llarena has argued that he would not let Oriol Junqueras, Jordi Sànchez and Joaquim Forn attend the constituent session of the Parliament because of the large social support that they have. In the text in which he denies the request made by all of them, Llarena says that releasing them would harm “the maintenance of peaceful coexistence” because there could be “serious clashes between citizens”. Basically, his argument is based on the fact that all of them have had an extended social support”, demonstrated for example in the large demonstrations of rejection of conditional imprisonment.
